Slana, Alaska

 Where Were We?

Oh! I remember....on June 4th we left Sarasota and went to Tallahassee where we stayed on the Wakulla River and visited our old Alma Mater....50 years later....

Then we drove to a pretty little Army Corps of Engineers Campground in Alabama.

After that we camped on the Mississippi River opposite Memphis an had Williams Bar-b-que and a poorly packed  table dropped on Mrs Phred's foot and it broke (her foot, not the table) so we're not hiking or playing tennis right now.

We stopped to say hello to Paul and Diane in Mountain Home, Arkansas

Eureka, Kansas was a pretty little town with a library and ATM. They sold tractors there.

Why don't I remember Broken Bow, Nebraska?

This picture has nothing to do with Little Big Horn River, Montana...but then none of the pictures match the narratives....

We stayed a few nights in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming...Old Faithful was....

After three nights in Canyon Ferry Lake, Montana we were ready to move on....

Mrs. Phred had her foot Xrayed in Livingston, Montana...

We drank too much on Saturday night and listened to live music during our three days in Flathead Lake, Montana....

I met a new dermatologist  in Spokane, Washington...he took off a booboo...

Oroville, Washington had a lot of apples...

In Quesnel, British Columbia we stayed three days and went canoeing...

Smithers, British Columbia had a great municipal campground with hiking trails and free firewood.

We ran into the Bear Man again in Hyder, Alaska....That wasn't a surprise since he camps out on the Salmon Glacier overlook.....

Dease Lake, British Columbia is on the Cassiar Highway. Native Americans live there....or is it Native Canadians?

We spent two nights in Carcross, Yukon Territory and drove into Skagway....

Skagway, Alaska was two nights ago.....then we stayed in Beaver Creek, British Columbia...and drove to Slana, Alaska which is at the entrance to the Wranger/St Elias National Park...

We head for Valdez in the morning....I'll try not to let the blog backlog get out of hand again....

.....................Phred here, AFK!
