The Blue Man Group

Istanbul and the Bosporus

What a place....bazaars, whirling dervishes, hookahs, kebabs everywhere...grand mosques...

We arrived at 2AM last night and made our way 17 kilometres to our hostel on the Bosporus.

In the morning we hit the Grand Bazaar which goes on nearly forever.

Lamps and rugs are big here.

and kebabs...

Our hostel is very nice. It is on the Bosporus, right next to the Hippodrome and the Blue Mosque. A bazaar is steps away and there are two restaurants that feature Turkish music, whirling dervishes and hookahs....how strange to see men and women blowing clouds of smoke in restaurants at almost every table.

The view from the rooftop terrace of our hostel.

The Blue Mosque.

Something sweet?

Night approaches on the banks of the Bosporus.

Another mosque at twilight.

A boat with blue lights...totally garbaged up with Picassa photo effects...

Bridge over the Bosporus...Europe on the left...Asia on the right...

The Blue Mosque at night.
