Strattford-upon-Avon

Today is a long driving day. We say goodbye to Torqay and drive to Strattford-upon-Avon and then Liverpool.

Taylor and Brooke want to see Shakespear's birthplace and the royal Shakespear theatre. I can't tell whether the town center is as old as it looks or whether it's a clever Disneylike creation.

In any event, we enjoy the fish and chips for lunch and only get lost once heading up to Liverpool.

We watch the England/Italy soccer game in an Indian pub and have way too much curry.

We have a five hour Beatles taxi tour scheduled this morning, then a two hour drive to Holyhead to catch the ferry to Dublin and our B&B.

Downtown Liverpool is suprisingly beautiful and packed full of large museums. We all wish we had two more days to spend here...so it goes...

I'm thinking about seeing the Maritime Museum and letting Bubbye and the kids do the taxi tour.

  1. Never been to this part of England...it does look beautiful...not sure that I would go to the same museum...but I think I would nix the "taxi" tour too:) sil
